growing up...

It took me a long time to figure out that friendships are second best in the realm of relationships. No matter what my family has always been there for me. Through all of my changes, all of my bad decisions. Things like that can send a "friend" running, but not family. Mine is incredibly loyal and strong, and definitely not going anywhere. Finally, in my 23rd year the importance of family is beginning to set in.

Fine Art?

As an Assignment for my Fine Art Photography class I had take images that depicted a song.

goodbye tx... hello vegas?

I am sitting in the San Antonio airport counting down the minuets until I depart from this god-awful place. For some reason we have a 3 hour flight to Vegas... a layover there for a few hours, then onto home. I am so ready to get out of here. Honestly, I am not a fan of Texas. Not even a little bit. Despite my obvious hate for this cowboy filled state our trip went well. The 5 of us slept in one room, consisting of 2 beds and a roll away. Me and the roll away became good friends. I ran like 8 miles these past couple of days. I love that about hotels. Sweet gyms. This one had free apples. Rad, I know.

It was hard to say goodbye to Caley again but we somehow managed. I really am proud of her. So many people just sit back and let life pass them by. Too afraid to take a risk and follow their heart. People that can leap out of the boat have my full respect.

I had a long conversation with Eric today. It was full of crying and laughing. It usually is. He decided it was time to tell me what exactly he will be doing while in Iraq for 15 months. Here it is... Attempt to gain control of a specific city in Iraq that we have yet to conquer and secure (its been 6 years! does that tell you something about this city? it should.) During this invasion Eric will be the combat medic for the 1st armored division. Wonderful (insert sarcastic tone). Front lines of the battlefield. Just woooonderful. I have faith he will make it back ok, although the odds are very against him. It is not his time to go. He still has things to do here. We still have things to do here.

This blog is different from most but I thought I would share =] Have a wonderful night.

Texas update...

(please insert extreme sarcastic tone before reading this next statement)
Well, Here I am in beautiful San Antonio...

I've been here since Wed. but was just able to get online today. Seeing Caley has been awesome. I am so proud of her. She's officially an Airmen now. What a badass. Unfortunately, I am completely retarded and forget my only camera battery (I know, I am cheap) on my charger at home. So, instead of shooting with a 5D I have been shooting with the crappiest point and shoot ever! I've been borderline depressed about it. I've decided to somehow make it work despite the fact that is has only AUTO settings. Here are some of my attempts at making bad photos look slightly cool.
